Matthew 5:13-16: “Ye are the salt of the earth… Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

This is our motivation and our mission: That people will see our lights shining wherever we go, and then will glorify God, because all the glory and honor belongs to Him for “we only have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.” (2 Cor. 4:7)

“Every follower of Jesus has a work to do as a missionary for Christ, in the family, in the neighborhood, in the town or city where he lives. All who are consecrated to God are channels of light. God makes them instruments of righteousness to communicate to others the light of truth.” (Testimonies vol. 2 p.632)

We feel the desire in our hearts to share the love and truth of God with all we come in contact with. “We are debtors to the world for the grace given us of God, for the light which has shone upon us, and for the discovered beauty and power of the truth.” (Testimonies vol. 4 p.53)

And so: “God expects personal service from every one to whom He has entrusted a knowledge of the truth for this time.” (Testimonies vol. 9 p.30) So we are answering God’s call: “…go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15), and giving our lives wholly to God, so He may use us as channels of light for the salvation of souls!
